Privacy Policy

BonsTimes ("we", "us") is a local events and community platform. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights over it. This is the alpha-phase policy and may change before public launch.
1. What we collect
- Account data: email, display name, hashed password, email-verification status.
- Content you post: events, classifieds, forum posts, comments, chat messages, profile info.
- Transactional data: ticket purchases, refund requests, payment provider references (we do not store full card numbers).
- Operational data: IP address, browser user-agent, request logs (retained 30 days), session identifiers, push-notification subscription endpoints.
- Email metadata: messages routed through our in-house relay are inspected for delivery and abuse prevention.
2. Why we collect it
- To provide the service (login, posting, ticketing, chat).
- To prevent fraud, spam, and abuse.
- To send transactional email (verification, password reset, ticket receipts, refund updates).
- To send notifications you opt into.
- To comply with legal requirements (tax, lawful requests).
3. Third parties
We share data with payment processors (Stripe / PayPal) only as needed to complete a purchase. We host on dedicated servers provided by Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany, EU) and route mail through our own MailServer; outbound email traverses recipient mail providers as required for delivery.
4. Your rights
You can:
- Export your data — request a copy of all data tied to your account.
- Delete your account — initiates removal of personal data; transactional records may be retained as legally required.
- Update or correct any account or profile data at any time.
- Withdraw consent for non-essential cookies and marketing communications.

5. Cookies
We use essential cookies for login, session, and CSRF protection. Non-essential analytics cookies, if any, are only set after you accept them via the banner.
6. Children
BonsTimes is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
7. Changes
We will notify alpha testers by email when material changes are made. The effective date above will be updated.
